Let's actually go.

One cool thing.
One big group.
Easy to say yes to.

Alameda Night Out gets a crew of us together to go do something fun. Sometimes with the kids, sometimes adults only. The plan comes together a night at a time, and a good idea is always welcome.

Milad builds VR and AR software by day and questionable little apps by night, usually to fix a problem only his corner of Alameda has, or to chase whatever half-formed idea won't leave him alone.

Ten years in the Bay, these days on the East End, feeling every one of those years as the owner of two feral boys (1 and 5). Somewhere in there he became the block-party guy. Alameda Night Out is that, with a bigger guest list.

For real, though: Alameda's community pulled him out of a funk. Moving to the valley of silicon meant years of living in silos, and getting to add to the vibe of this island, bringing people from all over together, has put some much-needed purpose back into a tech-depleted life.

Likes: playing (aka losing) at chess; learning everything about some random topic, mostly to avoid the thing he should actually be doing; talking to strangers; asking too many questions; making everyone laugh and sometimes think, ideally without noticing the ones whose only thought is "if I keep laughing, maybe he'll leave me alone"; crying during KPop Demon Hunters when the music hits just right; and playing piano for his own enjoyment and his kid's annoyance, which is also his enjoyment.

Past lives: film and TV composer, stand-up comic, and an extra in Sharknado 2.
